CONSTRUCTION: The conductors run parallel and are slightly twisted. This established technique has proven to be an effective shield against high-frequency and electromagnetic interference.
A) Conductors: 3.0 mm² silver-plated Ohno Continuous Cast copper conductors offer a much higher degree of purity compared to conventional OFC. Each conductor strand has an innovative square configuration. The geometry and metallurgy used in this construction offer excellent performance with extremely impressive electrical conductivity.
B) Dielectric: The Teflon FEP dielectric (insulation) is chemically inert and exhibits a very low dielectric constant over a wide frequency range. FEP has very high resistance to cracking under tension and a low coefficient of friction, making it an exceptional dielectric. FEP is the first choice for safety in terms of both temperature and electrical insulation.
C) Insert: Cotton filler was used to give the cable internal strength and reduce microphony. Cotton also has excellent dielectric properties, the best of all solid materials.
D) Sheath: A Mylar wrapping serves to secure the construction and forms a shield before applying a flexible PVC jacket. The addition of Mylar and cotton, together with the PVC, provides a buffer to maintain the exceptional dielectric properties.
E) Shielding: A grounded OFC shield ensures maximum RFI suppression and thus prevents common-mode interference that affects the live and neutral conductors.
F) Jacket: PVC is used as an outer jacket to ensure a high degree of flexibility and mechanical strength.
