SPLAT! is the new, powerful studio album by Deep Purple, produced by Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Kiss, Lou Reed). Deeply rooted in the band's classic DNA while simultaneously driven by a strikingly contemporary energy, it is their heaviest album in decades: heavy, direct, and recorded live in the studio.
At the center of SPLAT! is an idea from Ian Gillan. The album understands the end not as destruction, but as transformation: SPLAT! portrays the end of humanity not as a blunt apocalyptic scenario, but as a metamorphosis beyond physical existence.
