Revox Master Tape, HANS THEESSINK - BABY WANTS TO BOOGIE

With “Baby Wants to Boogie,” Hans Theessink combines traditional blues with his own distinctive musical style. His deep, expressive voice and powerful guitar playing define this 1987 album. Relaxed grooves, rhythmic boogie and reflective moments come together in a varied blend of country blues and roots music.

Alongside guitar, mandolin and harmonica, unusual instruments add color to the arrangements. Jon Sass makes his mark with characteristic tuba accents, while Flaco Jiménez adds further tonal colors on accordion. Original compositions sit alongside blues classics such as “Stones in My Passway” and “Nobody’s Fault but Mine,” which Theessink makes his own with distinctive interpretations.

The Revox Master Tape edition comprises ten tracks and is mastered specially for analog tape playback. An album for lovers of hand-played music, distinctive voices and the storytelling power of the blues.
