Revox Master Tape, INGA RUMPF - WHITE HORSES

“An intensity is expressed here that is second to none,” wrote the magazine Good Times in August 2013.

And that is by no means surprising. Inga Rumpf, a successful blues, rock, and soul singer since the 70s, recorded her double album White Horses (2012) in a truly intimate atmosphere.

In the Hamburg Nullviernull studio, singer and guitarist Inga Rumpf stands on stage, accompanied only by Joe Dinkelbach on the grand piano and Thomas Biller on the double bass. They wait for a signal from producer Dirk Sommer. This concert is recorded directly and without any technical intervention as a “first take.” No amplification, purely acoustic, completely unplugged, and totally analog.

The recordings are now available in unprecedented sound quality. The original analog recordings of the 2012 concert, which were captured in absolute top quality even then, form the basis for Christoph Stickel’s unobtrusive “restoration,” which aims to avoid any artistic intervention. You, the esteemed listener, will be transported back to the sound engineer’s chair at the time of the recording.
